A Look Back on 2017 / A Look Forward to 2018

Hard to believe it's been two years (and six books) since I started publishing. Thought I'd take a moment to look back on the journey, some of the highlights and what's in store for the future. Eyes Wide Open I had no idea what this publishing path would be like - I went in blind with nothing more than an interest in telling a story. It turned out to be way harder than I could have imagined. You'd think writing a book wouldn't be that difficult, but it is. It's not so much the book that readers see that's hard to produce, it's the ideas and writing that get left on the cutting room floor. But beyond the actual stories, learning Photoshop to do my own covers, understanding how to market my books, learning how to create print versions, and a dozen other things really opened my eyes to how much effort is required to get a book to market. Along the way I’ve had my moments where I questioned my sanity to put myself through the process. But

Big thank you to all my readers!

Just wanted to thank all the recent readers that have read The Fall of Man series. You guys are the best. And thank you for the reviews and the kind emails. I'm really blown away when someone appreciates my books... I just wish life were a little less hectic so I could engage with folks more. I've been pretty quiet lately (have a move coming up and there is always ten times as much work when moving than you think there will be). And it definitely doesn't help with getting in  the writer's frame of mind. But that should all be over in the next couple weeks and life can return to normal. Anyway, I'm hoping to start writing the follow up to Obey in November. I plan to write two final installments and provide a trilogy to that story. So we'll see when that's released. I'm thinking March/April 2018 if I release them both at once (still unsure about that, but we'll see). I'll try to post here and blog a little in the coming months. October ha

Poll Time

[poll is now closed, but feel free to email your feedback at any time] Hi Folks. Well, life's been crazy the past few weeks, but I'm almost out of the woods and will be figuring out what comes next in terms of writing. To that end, I thought I'd poll readers to see if there was a preference out there. If you want to chime in, I set up a simple one question poll. No emails are collected and it's anonymous. https://goo.gl/forms/tMqjPA0SKijQGSzU2
Well, the new book - Into The Strange - is almost done. I'm highly confident that I'll be in the upload process by the 11th at the latest (will update when it goes live). I didn't realize it, but this book is my largest to date (can't say for sure, but it should clock in around 460'ish pages). I'm going to be trying something new this time. I'll be launching the book at 99c. Not sure how long it will stay at that price, most likely between 15-30 days. I'm generally not a fan  of 99c pricing, but this is a special exception. A few reasons for this: 1) I want to give back to fans who have followed me on this journey (especially everyone who has left reviews). This is my primary reason for launching at 99c. Doing so for 15 - 30 days is more tied to points two and three. 2) Amazon's silly store dynamics bump books on the new release list, and low-cost maximizes that process; giving them increased visibility. 3) I'm going to try and book

Welcome Bookbub Readers

Welcome Bookbub Readers, Thanks for grabbing The Fall of Man: Days of Judgment. I hope you enjoy the read. I'm currently swamped preparing the release of my latest novel - "Into The Strange" - so haven't been on social media much. But hopefully after it's released (mid-August) I'll have more time to connect with readers. Have fun getting to know Mr. White. Best, Rob

Plot for my next novel now complete...

Well, the plot for my next book is officially complete. In many ways it's a return to the "vibe" of The Fall of Man, but in a completely different context and with very different thematic focuses. This book is going to be more metaphysical (or is it? that will be part of the mystery). It's going to be a very tough book to write because, if done properly (that's the hard part), it's going to play with readers even more than my previous books in terms of being elusive as to w hat exactly is going on. People tend to say I write page-turners, but this one will be even more so than my other books. Anyway, took a little longer than I'd hoped to complete this plot process, but we're in very good shape. I plan to shake off the rust and start writing tomorrow.

Thoughts on my next novel...

Closing in on completing the plot for my next book. If The Fall of Man was difficult to categorize, this one is going to be near impossible. There will be elements of scifi, metaphysical, psychological, mystery, and possibly a bit of horror. And the story is somewhat non-linear, but done right it should read well. And by non-linear I don't mean time-travel or anything, just a blending of storylines that will pull readers in different directions as the story unfolds. Generally, it's not smart to blend so many genres (people tend to like a heavy dose of one genre). But, it's the story I want to tell. So I need to stop worrying about the confines of the "market" and just write. :) This novel is going to be about how we respond when something that should not be possible, happens. It will focus on the consequences of that event on the human psyche, society and the world-at-large (while obviously trying to figure out how it happened). I don&
